anyone else feel like AAA insurance isn't what it used to be?

I totally get where you're coming from. AAA has its flaws, but when you're dealing with vintage cars like mine, reliability trumps everything else. Tried exploring other clubs too, but coverage gaps just make me nervous... sticking with AAA feels safer for now.

Interesting perspectiveβ€”I can see why you'd prioritize reliability, especially with vintage cars. I've mostly stuck with AAA myself, but lately I've been wondering if specialized classic car insurers might offer better tailored coverage. Has anyone here had experience with those niche providers? Curious if their roadside assistance stacks up against AAA's, particularly on longer road trips...

I've looked into a couple niche insurers for my older Benz, and honestly, their roadside assistance seemed decent on paper... but I still worry about their network reach. AAA's coverage is just so widespread, especially if you're traveling cross-country. Tough call.

- AAA's network is definitely a plus, but I've heard mixed stories lately about their response times, especially in rural areas.
- A friend got stranded in Montana last summer, and AAA took forever to show up... niche insurers might have fewer trucks, but maybe they're quicker locally?
- Have you looked into how niche insurers handle reimbursements if you have to call someone outside their network? Could be a decent compromise.

I've actually had to deal with niche insurers a couple of times, and reimbursement was surprisingly straightforward. Usually, you just keep the receipt from whoever you called, submit it online or through their app, and they reimburse within a couple weeks. AAA's rural response times can definitely be hit or missβ€”got stuck in rural Oregon once and waited almost three hours. Maybe niche insurers have fewer trucks but better local connections? Worth looking into... Have you checked any specific local insurers yet?
