anyone else feel like AAA insurance isn't what it used to be?

I had a similar experience when I tried using my credit card's roadside assistance last year. The fine print was a bit tricky, and I ended up paying extra for mileage beyond their limit. AAA might not be perfect, but at least the terms are clear upfront...

Yeah, AAA's terms might be clear, but honestly, clarity doesn't always mean it's a good deal. I remember when my sister's car broke down last summer, she had AAA and thought she was covered. Turns out she was just a few miles over their free towing limit, and the extra charges were pretty steep. She ended up paying way more than expected, even though she thought she'd read everything carefully.

Makes me wonder if these roadside assistance programs are really worth it anymore. Like, is it better to just set aside some emergency cash instead of paying yearly fees for something you might not even use? Or maybe there's another service out there that's more flexible with mileage limits or has better coverage overall...

Has anyone tried other roadside assistance services besides AAA or credit card perks? Curious if there's something better out there that doesn't nickel-and-dime you when you're already stressed about your car breaking down.

Yeah, I've noticed AAA isn't quite the deal it used to be. Had a similar issue with my old Mustangβ€”ended up paying extra because of mileage limits. I've heard decent things about Better World Club, though... might be worth checking out.

I've looked into Better World Club myself, and while their eco-friendly angle is appealing, I'm not entirely convinced they're the best fit for everyone. AAA might've slipped a bit, sure, but their network is still pretty extensiveβ€”especially if you're driving something higher-end. Had a flat tire on my Audi last year in the middle of nowhere, and AAA had someone out surprisingly quick. Mileage limits can be annoying, but reliability counts for a lot when you're stranded...

I'm with you on thisβ€”AAA isn't perfect, but when you're stuck roadside with kids in the car, reliability is everything. I looked into Better World Club briefly, and while the eco-friendly thing sounds great in theory, their coverage seemed limited in certain areas. AAA's extensive network gives me peace of mind, especially on those long family road trips. Maybe they're slipping a bit, but for now I'm sticking with what feels safest...
