Honestly, I'm not sure it's just about rural vs city areas or timing. I mean, I live in a pretty quiet suburb and still had to wait over an hour last month when I locked my keys in the car (rookie mistake, I know...). My friend swears by roadside assistance through her regular insurance—says it's cheaper and faster. Might be worth checking out since AAA seems kinda hit-or-miss lately.

"having a backup through regular car insurance definitely sounds smart."

Definitely agree with this though—never hurts to have options.

I've noticed AAA being a bit inconsistent lately too. Last winter, my battery died in the grocery store parking lot (classic timing, right?). I called AAA thinking it'd be quick since I'm in a pretty populated area, but nope...waited almost two hours in freezing temps. A coworker mentioned she switched to roadside assistance through her regular car insurance and said response times were way better. I haven't made the switch yet, but after that experience, I'm seriously considering it.

Having a backup definitely seems smart though—especially if you're commuting regularly or driving older cars like mine that love to surprise you at the worst possible moments. Can't hurt to have options.

I've had similar experiences with AAA lately. A few months ago, I got a flat tire on my way home from work—middle of rush hour, pouring rain, the whole deal. Called AAA expecting they'd be quick since I was right off a main road, but ended up waiting over an hour. Luckily, a friend happened to drive by and helped me out before they even arrived. Has anyone tried roadside assistance through their dealership? Wondering if that's any better...

I've noticed the same thing lately. Had to call AAA last winter when my battery died—freezing cold, late evening, not fun at all. Took them nearly two hours to show up. After that, I checked out my dealership's roadside assistance plan. Turns out it's included with my warranty, and they claim faster response times since they contract local tow companies directly. Haven't needed to test it yet (knock on wood), but might be worth looking into your dealership's policy details...could save you some hassle next time.

Had a similar experience with AAA recently—waited forever when I locked my keys in the car. Honestly, feels like their service has slipped lately. Makes me wonder if it's better to just bundle roadside assistance directly with your car insurance instead of relying on separate memberships. Has anyone compared response times between dealership plans and regular insurance add-ons? Curious if there's actually a noticeable difference or if it's just marketing hype...
