RE: saving cash on insurance when you're young and broke
Garage parking can affect more than theft risk: it may change exposure to vandalism or weather damage too. A security system doesn’t automatically earn a discount; it depends on whether the insurer recognizes that specif...
RE: Insurance Offering Cash or Replacement Car - Which Is Better?
The fees and warranty are easy to overlook, but I’d add one more check to the replacement offer: compare the proposed car’s safety equipment and crash-test results with your old one. “Similar value” or similar size doesn...
RE: Is it worth paying extra for full car coverage in VA?
Honestly, you nailed it with the “peace of mind” thing. I’ve seen folks save a few hundred by dropping full coverage, then get sideswiped by some uninsured driver or a tree branch during a storm and suddenly wish they’d ...
RE: Letting teens borrow your car: add them to insurance or just trust the policy?
I hear this all the time: “I haven’t heard of anyone actually getting denied, but who knows what would happen if something big did go wrong. Insurance companies love their fine print.” Here’s the thing - most policies ...
RE: If You Had To Switch Insurance In Kentucky, Who Would You Trust?
You nailed it about the fine print - most folks don’t realize until they’re stuck on the side of the road that “roadside” can mean a 50-mile radius or three calls a year, tops. I’ve seen people pay extra for “premium” pl...
RE: Why did my GEICO premium jump so much this year?
Tell me about it. I had a client last month who was furious - swore nothing had changed, but when we dug in, the zip code alone had a 12% hike just from local accident stats. No tickets, no claims, still got hit. Honestl...
RE: Getting Cheaper Car Insurance by Proving You Drive Less
Honestly, I hear this a lot. Folks think the tracking apps are supposed to make you safer, but half the time people just end up driving like robots or stressing out over every yellow light. I’ve seen people get dinged fo...
RE: Finding decent car insurance in Delaware without losing your mind
Not gonna lie, I hear this a lot: Thing is, I get where you’re coming from - some of those riders are basically Swiss cheese with all the holes in coverage. But I’ve also seen folks get burned the other way, too. Had a ...
RE: Finding decent car insurance in Delaware without losing your mind
That’s spot on. I’ve seen folks get burned by those “one-size-fits-all” online quotes - missed discounts, wrong mileage, you name it. Out of curiosity, has anyone actually had a claim go smoother because they had a local...
RE: Getting Cheaper Car Insurance by Proving You Drive Less
Honestly, I’ve had clients swear up and down they drive less than 5k a year, but when I ask for proof, they just shrug. Most companies now just slap on the regional average unless you push back hard. The days of chatting...
RE: Why did my GEICO premium jump so much this year?
Title: Why did my GEICO premium jump so much this year? That part gets under my skin too. I’ve worked with folks who’ve never had so much as a parking ticket, but the second their neighbor’s cousin rear-ends someone t...
RE: Getting caught without car insurance in Iowa is no joke
Bundling always sounds like a deal until you dig into the fine print and realize you’re paying for stuff you never asked for. I’ve seen folks get excited about telematics too - plug in the device, drive like a saint, and...
RE: Bundling insurance with USAA: worth it or just hype?
Yeah, I’ve seen that happen more than once - folks get lured in by the bundle discount, then one claim later, their rates spike and they’re locked in. It’s not always the deal it looks like on paper. Sometimes splitting ...
RE: If You Had To Switch Insurance In Kentucky, Who Would You Trust?
I hear you on the interrogation thing - some of those questions get pretty wild. I’ve seen folks get grilled about how many miles they drive to the grocery store, or if their car is parked under a tree at night. It’s all...
RE: Lowball insurance estimate - worth fighting or just let it go?
I hear you, but honestly, sometimes it’s less about the money and more about the principle. I’ve watched folks spend hours chasing $30 just to prove a point. That “we’re reviewing your claim” email? Yeah, it’s real - som...
