Yeah, went through something similar last year—minor bump, thought it'd be straightforward. Nope. Took almost a month, endless back-and-forth calls, and felt like they were hoping I'd just give up... Insurance companies aren't exactly known for speedy service, I guess.

I get your frustration, but do you think it's always intentional on their part? I mean, insurance companies definitely aren't known for being quick, but sometimes delays might be due to other factors too. Did they ever explain exactly why it took so long in your case—like was it paperwork issues, waiting on the other driver's statement, or maybe even repair shop delays?

I've had a couple of minor incidents myself (thankfully nothing serious), and one time it dragged out because the other driver wasn't responding to their own insurance company. It felt like forever, but when I finally got through to someone who explained the holdup, it made sense—even if it was still annoying. Another time, the repair shop was backed up with parts shortages, which slowed everything down. Not saying insurance companies are blameless—they definitely could communicate better—but maybe it's not always them deliberately dragging their feet?

Also makes me wonder if certain companies handle claims faster than others. Has anyone noticed a difference between providers? Could be worth looking into next renewal...

Yeah, I get what you're saying about delays not always being intentional. But honestly, sometimes it feels like insurance companies operate on their own special version of "island time," you know? I've had a couple of minor scrapes myself, and one time the holdup was literally because someone at the insurance office misplaced my paperwork. Like, seriously? Did it fall behind the coffee machine or something?

Another time, though, it was definitely the repair shop's fault—parts were on backorder, and they didn't bother updating me until I called them for the third time. So yeah, it's probably not always the insurance company's fault directly... but man, their communication skills could use some serious work.

As for differences between providers, I've switched companies a couple times over the years and honestly haven't noticed a huge difference in speed. Maybe I'm just unlucky? Or maybe they're all secretly sharing notes on how to keep us waiting just long enough to test our patience...
