Does a Utah SR-22 fee show up in the quote total?
When comparing Utah quotes that require an SR-22 filing, is the filing charge usually included in the quoted total, or listed separately after choosing a policy? I’m trying to understand the full cost of keeping coverage and the filing active, not just the premium.
I’d want to compare the same liability limits and payment schedule, with any one-time or recurring filing charge and installment or policy fees shown separately. If a policy is canceled or lapses, what should I ask about how that affects the SR-22 filing?

For the cancellation or lapse part, ask the insurer whether it will send Utah an SR-26 notice, and when. Also ask what happens if there’s a gap before replacement coverage and filing take effect; that timing can affect whether your driving privilege is at risk.
An SR-22 filing charge may not appear in the displayed premium, so don’t treat that figure as the full cost. Quote layouts vary: compare the amount due to start the policy with the total of all scheduled payments, and ask whether any filing fee is charged once or again at renewal. That’ll give you a better like-for-like comparison alongside the installment and policy fees.
