Honestly, I’ve had both screw me over. Last year, filled out a paper claim at the kitchen table, then the dog knocked over my coffee—total mess. Now I just scan everything right after I fill it out. If the digital form freezes, at least I’ve got a backup. Not perfect, but better than starting from scratch every time.

I get what you mean, but doesn’t scanning paper forms just add another step? I always worry I’ll forget to scan, then lose the original anyway. Isn’t it just as easy to lose a file on your computer as a piece of paper? Maybe I’m just paranoid, but I feel like both methods have their own ways of messing with you.

Honestly, I’m right there with you—half the time I forget to scan something and then it’s that “where did I put that form?” panic. On the other hand, I’ve had files disappear into random folders on my laptop, never to be seen again. Once, I even backed up a claim doc to a USB drive... then lost the drive in my car for months. Both ways have tripped me up, but at least with digital, there’s a shot at cloud backups if you remember to use them. Paper just seems to vanish when you need it most.

Honestly, I get the struggle with both. I’m new to all this, and I’ve already misplaced a paper receipt I needed for a claim—just gone. But digital isn’t foolproof either; I’ve accidentally deleted stuff or saved it with some weird file name, then spent forever searching. At least with cloud storage, there’s a backup if you remember to use it... but that’s a big “if.” Paper feels more tangible, but way easier to lose track of in my experience.

I once tried to be “organized” and kept all my paper receipts in a shoebox. Fast forward six months, and it looked like a raccoon had been filing my taxes. Digital’s great until you name a file “finalfinal_receipt2.pdf” and can’t find it later... but at least you don’t have to dig through old sneakers.
