I totally get where you’re coming from with the bundled extras. I used to think the same—just stick with the basics and save a few bucks. But then my car battery died in a grocery store parking lot, and I realized I had roadside assistance through my policy. Didn’t even remember signing up for it, but man, it made life easier that day. If I’d gone with the bare minimum, I’d have been stuck calling around and probably paying out of pocket. Now I always check what’s included before switching companies, even if it means spending a little more. The fine print still makes my head spin though...

Man, I hear you on the fine print—sometimes it feels like you need a law degree just to figure out what’s actually covered. I used to think all those extras were just ways to jack up the price, but after my tire blew out on a road trip and I actually used the towing, I changed my tune. It’s wild how you don’t think you’ll need it until you really do. I still get nervous about overpaying, but peace of mind is worth something, too.

Totally get where you’re coming from—fine print is a nightmare. I’m all about saving cash, but after my last trip, I won’t skip roadside again. Nothing like sitting on the shoulder at 2am to make you appreciate “overpriced” extras...

Been there, done that—except mine was 3am, in the rain, with a dead phone. You start questioning all your life choices at that point. I used to roll my eyes at the “add roadside for $10 more” pitch, but after that night? I don’t even blink. Honestly, both State Farm and Farm Bureau have decent roadside, but the devil’s in those little details (and how fast they actually show up). Fine print really is the silent assassin of a good deal...

State Farm’s roadside left me waiting almost two hours once—middle of nowhere, summer heat, not fun. Farm Bureau was quicker the one time I needed them, but their coverage limits felt a bit stingier. Honestly, it’s a toss-up unless you dig into what they actually cover and how many “free” tows you get. Those little differences add up fast when you’re stranded. I’d say, don’t just look at price or brand—ask about real-world response times in your area. That’s where the rubber meets the road, literally.
