I get the appeal of saving upfront, snacks are life after all... but don't underestimate how much a smooth claims process matters. Had a client once who went budget-friendly, then spent weeks chasing down someone to help after a fender-bender. Not saying it'll happen to you, but when it does, you'll wish you'd spent a few extra bucks for less hassle. Just something to chew on while you're stocking up on road trip snacks.
Definitely feel this. I haven't been driving long, but my older brother went with a cheaper option to save cash for a trip... then he rear-ended someone. Nothing major, but man, he spent forever just trying to get someone on the phone. Watching him deal with that headache made me realize I'd rather skip a few snacks and have peace of mind. Just my two cents from the passenger seat, lol.
