As someone who's had a few too many "oops" moments behind the wheel, I'd lean toward State Farm. Their app saved my butt a couple times—super easy to snap pics and get things rolling without awkward phone calls. Farm Bureau's fees annoyed me, honestly. But yeah, watch those deductibles... learned that the hard way after a fender bender. Cheaper monthly isn't always cheaper overall.

Good points about the deductibles... I'm still pretty new to driving, but I've been crunching numbers like crazy trying to figure out insurance. State Farm's app sounds handy, especially if you're prone to minor mishaps (like me, lol). But yeah, those monthly fees can be sneaky—low upfront cost isn't always the best deal long-term. Definitely gonna double-check deductible amounts before signing anything. Thanks for sharing your experience; makes me feel less overwhelmed about all this insurance stuff.

Smart move checking those deductibles... learned that lesson the hard way myself. When I first insured my '68 Mustang, I jumped at the lowest monthly premium without really thinking about the deductible. Then a minor fender bender happened—nothing major, thankfully—but ouch, paying that deductible stung more than the dent itself. Now, I always recommend looking at the total yearly cost plus potential out-of-pocket expenses. Sounds like you're already on the right track though, good luck!

Totally agree about deductibles being sneaky. Another thing to think about is customer service—especially how easy it is to actually get someone on the phone or handle claims online. Had State Farm for a few years, and they were pretty solid with quick responses, but I've heard mixed things about Farm Bureau's online tools. Have you looked into how convenient each company is when you actually need help? Might be worth digging into that too before deciding.

Yeah, deductibles can definitely sneak up on you, especially if you're trying to keep your monthly payments low. I've been looking into both State Farm and Farm Bureau myself lately, and honestly, customer service convenience is a big deal for me too. I haven't personally used either yet, but my older brother had State Farm when he got into a minor fender-bender last year. He said filing the claim online was pretty straightforward, and they got back to him within a day or two. So that's reassuring.

On the other hand, I've heard similar mixed reviews about Farm Bureau's online system. A friend of mine mentioned that their website felt kinda outdated and clunky when she tried to update her policy info. She ended up having to call them directly, which wasn't terrible but still a bit inconvenient if you're used to doing everything online.

Another thing I've been thinking about is discounts—especially for student drivers or younger folks like me who are trying to keep costs down. State Farm seems to have some decent discounts for good grades and safe driving programs. Not sure if Farm Bureau offers something similar, but it'd be worth checking out if you're budget-conscious like I am.

Honestly though, I think it might come down to how much you value convenience versus price. If Farm Bureau ends up being significantly cheaper overall, maybe dealing with slightly less user-friendly online tools isn't such a big deal? But if they're close in price, I'd probably lean toward State Farm just because of the smoother experience my brother had.

Either way, it's definitely smart to dig into the details before committing—insurance is one of those things you don't really think about until you actually need it...and then suddenly it's super important.
