I'm trying to wrap my head around the whole insurance thing here in TN. I've heard some states have no-fault and others are at-fault, but honestly, I'm a bit lost. Can someone break it down simply for me?

Haha, you're definitely not alone thereβ€”I remember when I first moved to Tennessee, the whole insurance thing felt like trying to learn algebra again (and I barely survived that the first time around...). Basically, Tennessee is an "at-fault" state, meaning whoever caused the accident is responsible for covering the damages. So, unlike no-fault states where your own insurance covers your damages regardless of who caused the accident, here it's all about figuring out who's to blame.

Have you ever had to deal with an accident report or police statements? Because that's usually where things get interestingβ€”insurance companies love to argue over fault percentages. Trust me, it's like watching a courtroom drama unfold right in front of you. Just make sure you've got good coverage and maybe dashcam footage, because proving fault can sometimes get tricky. Hope that clears things up a bit...or at least doesn't confuse you more!

Insurance can definitely feel like a maze at first, especially when you're trying to save money. Honestly, once you get the hang of the at-fault thing, it's pretty straightforwardβ€”just keep your records organized and stay calm if things get messy...you'll be fine.
