Combining errands is a total game-changer—I started doing it after realizing I was basically driving in circles all weekend, lol. About the usage-based insurance thing, I gave it a shot...turns out my "gentle braking" wasn't as gentle as I thought. Still saved some cash though, worth considering.

Haha, yeah, tried that usage-based thing myself a while back. But honestly, it felt kinda invasive—like having my driving judged all the time was weirdly stressful. Plus, I do a lot of road trips and scenic drives...and let's just say those mountain curves aren't exactly "gentle braking" friendly. Ended up going back to regular coverage. Sometimes peace of mind beats saving a few bucks.

I get what you're saying about the stress factor—having your driving habits monitored can feel a bit intrusive at first. But honestly, I found it pretty helpful overall. When I first started using usage-based insurance, I was surprised (and a little humbled) by how often I was braking harder than necessary. It actually made me more aware of my driving habits and encouraged me to leave more space between cars, which is safer anyway.

Fair point there. Scenic routes and mountain roads can definitely skew the data a bit. But for everyday city driving, especially if you're young and trying to cut costs, it can be a good motivator to develop safer driving habits. And if you're naturally cautious behind the wheel, the savings can really add up over time. It's not for everyone, but I wouldn't dismiss it entirely—especially if budget is a big concern.

Totally get the mountain road thing—those twisty curves are half the fun of road trips, right? But honestly, I've found usage-based insurance isn't as punishing as you'd think. A few spirited drives here and there didn't tank my discount. Plus, like you said:

"It actually made me more aware of my driving habits..."

Same here. Ended up saving enough cash to fund an extra weekend getaway or two...worth it in my book.

Glad to hear usage-based insurance worked out for you too. Did you notice if your driving habits changed permanently, or was it just a temporary thing while you adjusted? I've found myself easing off the gas more often now without even thinking about it—funny how a little feedback can shift your mindset. And hey, extra weekend trips sound like a solid trade-off...where'd you end up going with the savings?
