Definitely agree with you there—digital cards are handy, but relying solely on tech can backfire. A lot of my clients have had similar experiences, especially in rural areas where cell reception is spotty at best. Also worth noting: even though SD officially accepts digital proof, some neighboring states might not. Crossing state lines regularly? Keep a paper copy handy... saves headaches down the road.

Good point, but honestly I've been driving around SD and neighboring states for a while now, and digital proof hasn't failed me yet—even in rural spots. Maybe I've just been lucky though...

Yeah, digital usually works fine, but I've had a couple of instances where my phone died or had no signal. Now I just stash a paper copy in the glovebox—takes 2 mins and saves the hassle if things go sideways.

That's a smart move, honestly. As an insurance agent, I've seen plenty of clients run into unexpected hiccups with digital proof. Sure, most of the time it's reliable enough, but like you mentioned, phones can die or lose signal at the worst possible moment. A simple paper backup is a practical solution—cheap, quick, and effective. I've always been budget-conscious myself, and I appreciate when people find straightforward ways to avoid unnecessary headaches down the road. It's a small step that can save you from potential fines or awkward explanations with law enforcement. Good thinking on your part... better safe than sorry, right?

Yeah, paper copy's been my go-to for years—cheap insurance against tech fails. But does anyone know if SD cops actually accept digital proof everywhere yet, or is it still hit-or-miss depending on the officer...?
