That’s exactly what worries me—these “agreed value” policies sound great until you actually need them. I’ve had similar headaches with a classic Benz, even after submitting a binder full of receipts and photos. Do you think it’s worth getting an independent appraisal every year, or is that just overkill? I’m never sure if the extra documentation really makes a difference when push comes to shove...

Honestly, I get where you're coming from. Those policies sound airtight until you actually file a claim, then suddenly it’s a game of “prove it.” I wouldn’t bother with a yearly appraisal unless you’re making big upgrades or the market shifts a lot—otherwise, it’s just burning cash. Receipts and photos help, but insurance companies still love to nitpick. If your car’s value jumps or you do major work, that’s when I’d get a fresh appraisal. Otherwise, just keep your paperwork organized and up to date... no need to go overboard every year.

Yeah, I’ve seen people waste money on yearly appraisals when nothing’s changed. Had a guy bring in stacks of paperwork for every little thing—totally unnecessary unless you’re restoring or adding serious value. Just keep your receipts and pics handy, that’s what matters if you ever need to file.

That lines up with what I’ve seen too. I used to stress about having every single document lined up, but after talking to my agent, it really seems like receipts and a few clear photos are what they care about if something happens. I get wanting to be thorough, but honestly, unless you’re dealing with something rare or heavily modified, it just turns into busywork. Good call keeping it simple.

Yeah, I used to keep a binder full of every little thing—total overkill. These days, I just snap pics of my receipts and stash 'em in a cloud folder. Unless you’re driving something super unique, that’s usually enough. Insurance folks aren’t looking for a novel.
