Had a bit of a close call last month driving for Uber. Basically, I was between rides and stopped to grab a coffee real quick. Came back out and someone had sideswiped my parked car—no note, nothing. At first, I panicked thinking I'd be stuck footing the bill since I wasn't technically on a ride at the time. But luckily, I'd recently switched to an insurance policy that specifically covers rideshare drivers even when we're waiting or between trips. Honestly, I didn't even realize how big of a deal that was until this happened.
Anyway, long story short, insurance covered it without any hassle (thank god), and I'm back on the road. Made me realize how easily things could've gone south if I'd still had my old policy. Curious if anyone else has had a similar experience where having the right coverage saved your butt? Or maybe you found out the hard way that your regular insurance wasn't enough...
