Trading card sleeve—never would’ve thought of that, but honestly, it’s kind of genius. I’ve definitely been that person digging through a glovebox full of napkins, expired coupons, and who knows what else, just trying to find my registration. You nailed it with this:

Little bit of organization goes a long way, even if it’s just once or twice a year.

It really does. I had a moment last winter where my phone died right when I needed to show proof of insurance, and I was scrambling. Luckily I had an old paper copy stashed in the center console (though it was barely readable by then). Since then, I’ve made it a habit to snap a photo and keep a fresh printout in the car. It feels like overkill sometimes, but you only need that backup once for it to pay off.

Funny thing is, my dad still keeps everything in a little ziplock bag... says “plastic never fails.” Maybe he’s onto something.

Honestly, I get the appeal of the ziplock or trading card sleeve, but I’ve seen those get brittle or foggy over time, especially with heat. Might be worth considering a small document wallet instead—those tend to hold up better. Also, just a heads up: “plastic never fails”... until it melts on a hot dashboard. Seen it more than once.

I hear you on the plastic sleeves—had a “premium” one that basically fused itself to my insurance card after a summer in Palm Springs. Not fun scraping melted plastic off a Bentley’s glovebox, trust me. I switched to a slim leather doc holder a while back. It’s held up way better, plus it doesn’t look like I’m carrying Pokémon cards for my car. Just wish someone would invent a heat-proof, glovebox-friendly organizer already...

Yeah, those plastic sleeves are basically useless in the heat. I just keep my docs in a cheap ziplock bag now—doesn’t look fancy, but at least it doesn’t melt or stick to everything. Leather sounds nice, but I’m always worried about it getting gross if something spills. Why is it so hard to find something simple that actually works?

Honestly, I’ve had the same struggle. Tried those “weatherproof” sleeves once—total joke after a summer in Texas. Ended up using a zippered pencil pouch from the dollar store. It’s not fancy, but it’s held up through coffee spills and heat waves. Leather always seemed risky to me too… one bad spill and it’s done. Maybe there’s some magic material out there, but I haven’t found it yet.
