Honestly, I get where you’re coming from—sometimes too much detail just bogs things down. But I’d rather be clear than risk the wrong help showing up, you know? I’ve had a tow truck bring the wrong gear because I tried to “simplify” the problem. It’s annoying, but sometimes the extra questions save time in the long run. Still, yeah, it can feel like a pain when you’re stuck on the side of the road and just want it sorted fast.

Can’t argue with that—being too vague with roadside can backfire. I once thought I was saving time by just saying “flat tire” and didn’t mention my lug nuts were stripped. Ended up waiting twice as long because the first guy didn’t have the right tools. I get it, the extra questions are a pain, but skipping details almost always bites you later. Still, there’s gotta be a better way than the twenty-question routine every single time...

Been there myself—once had a dead battery and just said “car won’t start.” Didn’t mention I’d already tried jumping it, so the first tech came with jumper cables and nothing else. Ended up waiting for a tow anyway. Now I always list out exactly what’s wrong, even if it feels like overkill. It’s a hassle, but honestly, it saves time in the long run. I keep a note on my phone with all my car’s weird quirks just in case. Maybe not perfect, but it beats being stranded twice as long.

—but it really does help. Ever had them send the wrong kind of tow truck? I had to wait twice because they brought one too small for our minivan. Wonder if there’s a way to flag that stuff better when you call.

Yeah, that’s happened to me—twice, actually. First time, they sent a flatbed that was way too short for my SUV. The driver just looked at it and laughed, then called in for backup. I get why people think it’s overkill to list out every weird thing about their car, but honestly, if you’ve got anything bigger than a sedan or something with “quirks,” you’re just asking for trouble if you don’t spell it out.

I always tell them straight up: “It’s a lifted truck, not a Prius. Bring the big rig.” Sometimes they still mess it up, but at least I can say I warned them. It’s wild how often the dispatch folks seem surprised when you mention stuff like ground clearance or aftermarket tires. Maybe they need a checkbox for “not your average car” on those calls...

Anyway, I’d rather sound like a broken record than sit on the side of the road for three hours because someone brought a dolly meant for a Corolla.
