So, um, my cousin got pulled over last week in Oklahoma without insurance. Yeah, I know—not smart at all. Anyway, he's freaking out now because apparently he has two options: either pay a pretty hefty fine or risk having his license suspended for a while. He's leaning toward just paying the fine and getting it over with, but he's also kinda strapped for cash right now.

Personally, I'd probably bite the bullet and pay up even if it hurts my wallet, because losing my license would be a nightmare—can't imagine relying on friends or public transport to get everywhere. But he's thinking maybe suspension wouldn't be so bad if it's short-term and saves him money upfront.

Has anyone here dealt with something similar? Which option did you choose and how'd it work out? Curious to hear some real-life experiences before he makes a decision.

Yeah, I'd lean toward paying the fine too. I've seen a few cases like this through work, and honestly, dealing with a suspended license can spiral into a bigger headache than you'd think. Even short-term suspensions can mess with insurance rates later on, plus the inconvenience factor is huge. It sucks financially right now, but long-term, paying up usually ends up being the less painful route. Hang in there...he'll get through it.
