Are local insurers really always clearer, though? I've had a local company before, and while the face-to-face was nice, coverage details still felt vague when things went south. Maybe it's less about big vs small and more about asking the right questions upfront...?

That's a fair point, but honestly, even asking all the right questions upfront doesn't always save you from surprises later. I've seen plenty of cases where policy language itself is just inherently confusing, big or small insurer alike. Sometimes it's just luck of the draw...

True, luck plays a role, but you can still minimize surprises. When I switched insurers, I asked for a sample policy first—tedious, yeah, but it helped me spot confusing clauses and saved headaches later. Worth a shot, maybe?

Good point about reviewing sample policies—tedious but smart. Did you notice if local insurers were more flexible with policy tweaks, or did bigger names offer clearer terms overall? Curious if one stood out as easier to deal with when claims actually happen...

Honestly, from my experience handling claims, bigger insurers tend to have clearer processes, but that doesn't always mean smoother sailing. Local companies can surprise you—sometimes they're more willing to bend rules slightly to keep customers happy. Worth keeping an open mind...
