"Once I adjusted my driving style slightlyβ€”anticipating stops earlier, easing into accelerationβ€”the alerts became far less frequent."

Interesting take, but honestly, I tried the same thing and still got dinged constantly... especially on road trips through hilly areas. Maybe Snapshot handles elevation changes better? Might give it a shot next renewal.

I feel your pain on the hills thing... I swear, every time I drive upstate to visit family, my app thinks I'm auditioning for Fast & Furious: Mountain Edition. 😂 Tried Snapshot briefly and it seemed a bit more forgiving, but honestly, elevation changes still threw it off sometimes. Maybe it's just me? Curious if anyone's had better luck with other apps or tricks for hilly drivesβ€”because at this rate, I'll need insurance that grades on a curve... literally.

I've noticed similar issues with Snapshot myself, especially on steeper inclinesβ€”it seems to interpret normal acceleration as aggressive driving. I'm still fairly new to driving, so maybe it's partly my technique? I'm curious if anyone found differences between Geico and Progressive in terms of how strictly they evaluate acceleration and braking habits. Does one tend to be more forgiving than the other when it comes to elevation changes or hilly terrain?

Yeah, I've had the same frustration with Snapshot. My daily commute has a couple of steep hills, and it always flags me for "hard acceleration," even when I'm just trying to maintain speed uphill. Haven't tried Geico's version yet, but now I'm curious if their system is any smarter about elevation changes... or if they're all equally picky. Anyone here actually switched and noticed a difference?

I've noticed the same thing with Snapshotβ€”seems overly sensitive to normal driving conditions. A couple thoughts from my experience:

- Tried Geico's DriveEasy briefly, and honestly, it wasn't much better. Still flagged me for acceleration on hills.
- Might just be a limitation of these tracking apps in general... they're probably calibrated for flat roads.
- If you're really budget-conscious (like me), might be worth sticking it out and seeing if the discount outweighs the occasional frustration.

Hang in there, you're definitely not alone with this issue.
