Gotta second this. I'm in Brooklyn and street parking is basically bumper cars around here—had a minor scrape last year and Progressive barely raised my rate. Geico's initial quote was lower, sure, but they tend to spike hard after even small claims. Honestly, saving a few bucks upfront isn't worth the headache later. Insurance shopping sucks enough without nasty surprises down the line...

This is a solid point. I've seen clients surprised by Geico's hikes after minor incidents. Progressive isn't perfect either, but they do seem more forgiving overall—especially in dense urban areas. Good luck with the decision...insurance shopping is never fun.

Good points here. A couple quick thoughts from experience:

- Geico can be tempting upfront, but I've seen them get pretty jumpy after even minor claims—especially in NY traffic.
- Progressive tends to be steadier overall, though they're not saints either. Still, fewer surprises down the road usually.
- Don't overlook customer service either. When things go sideways (and they eventually do...), having someone responsive makes a huge difference.

Insurance shopping is basically choosing the lesser evil, haha. Good luck!

Can confirm the Geico thing—buddy of mine had a minor fender bender in Queens and they got real twitchy real fast. Progressive's been decent for me, no miracles but at least predictable. Honestly, insurance is like choosing between gas station coffee and airplane coffee... neither's great, but one's usually less disappointing, lol. Good luck out there.

I've heard similar stories about Geico, but honestly, Progressive isn't always a safe bet either. Had a coworker deal with them after a rear-end collision, and the claims process dragged out way longer than expected. Personally, I've found State Farm surprisingly reliable here in NY—maybe not the cheapest, but their responsiveness has been solid so far. Insurance is definitely a lesser-of-evils situation...but sometimes paying a bit more upfront saves headaches down the line.
