I feel you on the stress factor—insurance shopping is never fun. Had Geico for a few years, and their app really is intuitive, gotta give them credit there. But when I had a minor accident, things got tricky fast. They pushed aftermarket parts pretty hard at first, and it took some back-and-forth before they agreed to OEM. Not terrible, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're particular about repairs. Progressive sounds decent from what you're saying, though...might look into them next renewal myself.

Totally get the OEM vs aftermarket struggle—been there myself. A couple quick points from experience:

- Progressive was pretty straightforward when I had a claim on my Audi. They didn't push aftermarket parts much, but I did have to specifically request OEM upfront.
- Geico's app is slick, but their claims process can feel rushed, especially if you're particular about repairs.
- Whichever you pick, just make sure your policy explicitly states OEM coverage to avoid headaches later.

Good luck with the decision...insurance shopping is always a bit of a grind.

I've had decent luck with Geico, honestly. I get the OEM parts concern, but from a practical standpoint... aftermarket isn't always a downgrade. Had a fender-bender on my Subaru during a cross-country trip, and Geico's quick claims process got me back on the road fast. The aftermarket bumper they used fit perfectly and saved me from paying extra out-of-pocket. OEM is nice, sure, but sometimes aftermarket does the trick without breaking your budget. Just something to think about if cost matters to you.

Had Geico for a bit, claims were quick but rates jumped after a speeding ticket. Switched to Progressive—better pricing for high-risk drivers like me. Aftermarket parts haven't been an issue yet, but still skeptical... guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Yeah, aftermarket parts can be tricky. Had a minor fender bender last year with Progressive and they gave me the option—OEM vs aftermarket. Went aftermarket to save some bucks. Surprisingly, no issues so far, but I'm still half-expecting my bumper to randomly fall off one day lol.

If you're leaning toward Progressive, here's what I'd do: first, run a detailed quote online—tweak your coverage options step-by-step to see exactly where your savings are coming from. Then call them directly and ask specifically about their repair policies in NY. Sometimes agents spill helpful info that's buried deep in fine print online.

Geico treated me well initially too, but yeah—one speeding ticket and suddenly you're paying luxury car rates for a Honda Civic. Curious though, has anyone noticed if Progressive hikes rates aggressively after tickets like Geico does? Haven't tested that bridge yet myself...
