So I've been wondering...since NH doesn't technically require car insurance, what happens if you're cruising along uninsured and bam, you cause an accident? Like, say it's clearly your fault and there's some serious damage or injuries involved. Do you just pay outta pocket or are there other consequences you gotta worry about? Seems kinda risky to me, but I'm curious how it actually plays out in real life. Anyone know or been through something similar?

Risky is right...I mean, I get the appeal of saving a few bucks each month (insurance bills are no joke), but man, the thought of paying out-of-pocket for someone's totaled Tesla or hospital bills gives me cold sweats. A buddy of mine had a minor fender-bender uninsured in NH a few years back—nothing serious, thankfully—but even that small dent cost him a pretty penny. He joked he could've bought a decent used car for what he ended up paying. Can't imagine the stress if it had been worse.
Honestly, insurance feels like one of those annoying things you hate paying for until you actually need it. Then suddenly you're thanking your lucky stars you did.
