how bad does insurance spike after a DUI in Mississippi?

I've been doing some digging around because a friend of mine recently got a DUI here in Mississippi, and he's pretty stressed about how much his insurance is gonna jump. He's considering two options right now: either sticking with his current insurance company and just swallowing the rate hike, or shopping around for one of those specialized high-risk insurers.

I mean, I get it—staying put seems easier, less hassle, you know? But then again, maybe these high-risk companies offer better rates since they deal with this stuff all the time.
