Yeah, you're spot-on there. Tickets can linger longer than you'd think, but location definitely plays a bigger role than most people realize. For example, moving from a busy city area like Jackson or Gulfport to somewhere quieter usually helps lower your premium a bit—less traffic means fewer accidents, statistically speaking. But honestly, your driving record tends to weigh heavier overall. I've seen plenty of folks surprised by how much a single ticket or minor accident can bump their rates, even if they're in a low-risk area.

Have you checked into defensive driving courses? Some insurers offer decent discounts if you complete one, and it can sometimes help offset the hit from a ticket. Might be worth looking into if you're still feeling the pinch from that speeding incident...

Totally agree that your driving record usually hits harder than location. When we moved from Jackson out to a smaller town, our premium dropped a bit, but nothing huge. On the other hand, my wife got one speeding ticket last year and our rates jumped noticeably—still feeling that sting. Defensive driving courses helped us shave off a little, but honestly, just gotta wait it out and drive carefully...
