Yeah, the “right person, right day” thing is no joke. Last year, I called three times about the same discount and got three totally different answers—one agent even told me the safe driver discount didn’t stack with student, but the next person just added both, no questions. I’ve noticed the bigger companies do spell it out more, but even then, it sometimes feels like there’s a secret menu. As for the photo proof, my cousin had to send pics of his beat-up Civic, which cracked us up. Guess they just want to keep us on our toes...

- That “secret menu” vibe is real. I swear, half the time it’s like ordering animal style at In-N-Out—except you’re just hoping for a few bucks off your premium.

Been there. My old Camry looked like it survived a demolition derby and they still wanted proof it existed.
- Ever get the feeling some agents just make up rules on the spot? I’ve had one say “no stacking,” then another toss in a loyalty discount just because I asked nicely.
- Curious—has anyone actually gotten denied a discount after sending in those car photos, or is it just busywork?

Honestly, I’ve sent in photos of my car looking like it’s been through a war zone and never had a problem getting the discount. Feels like half the time it’s just a hoop they want you to jump through. Agents definitely make up their own rules—depends who you get on the phone. Don’t sweat the photo thing too much… if your paperwork’s good, you’re probably fine.
