Had a slightly different experience myself. I tried one of those apps for a while, and it seemed to penalize me pretty harshly for city driving—lots of stop-and-go traffic, sudden lane changes from other drivers, you know how it is. Felt like I was constantly getting dinged for stuff beyond my control. Maybe they're better suited for folks who mostly drive highways or quieter roads? Curious if anyone else noticed the same thing...

Had a similar issue when I tried one of those tracking apps. Here's what I noticed:

- City driving definitely hurt my score—lots of braking and accelerating due to traffic lights and pedestrians.
- Sudden lane changes by other drivers forced me to brake harder, and the app flagged me for "hard braking," even though it wasn't my fault.
- On the flip side, highway driving boosted my score significantly—steady speeds, fewer stops, smoother acceleration.
- Eventually, I realized these apps reward predictable driving conditions rather than actual safe driving skills in unpredictable environments.

I ended up uninstalling mine after a couple months because it felt unfairly skewed against city drivers. Seems like they're best suited for folks with longer commutes on open roads or highways.

Had almost the exact same experience. Did the math after the first month and realized it was actually costing me more than it saved. Here's what I figured out:

1. City driving is unavoidable for me—work, errands, you name it. Can't exactly dodge stoplights and jaywalkers, lol.
2. The app kept dinging me for braking hard, but what was I supposed to do, rear-end someone who suddenly decides they're turning without signaling?
3. I tried being extra cautious—coasting more, braking super gently—but it just wasn't realistic in heavy traffic. Felt like I was driving to please the app rather than staying attentive to actual road conditions.
4. Highway trips did help my score, but I don't do long highway drives often enough to balance things out.

Ended up ditching the app altogether because it felt like it punished practical, everyday driving. Curious though—anyone here actually manage to consistently improve their score enough to see significant savings, or is it mostly just marketing hype?

Had a similar situation myself. Initially thought I'd save a decent amount, but quickly realized the app penalized me for normal defensive driving habits. Like you, city driving is my daily reality—can't exactly coast gently when someone cuts me off unexpectedly. I did notice slight improvements when I consciously adjusted my driving style, but the savings were minimal and definitely not worth the stress or distraction. Makes me wonder if these apps truly reflect safe driving or just an idealized version that's disconnected from real-world conditions...
