Just read this news piece about a guy in Lexington whose brand-new truck got totaled like two weeks after he bought it. Insurance payout didn't even cover what he owed on the loan, and now he's stuck paying thousands out of pocket. Made me think twice about skipping gap insurance next time I buy a car, you know? Curious if anyone else saw this or has had similar experiences around here.

Gap insurance can be helpful, sure, but honestly, it's not always the best deal. If you put down a decent down payment or buy used, the gap shrinks pretty fast. Better to crunch your own numbers first than jump straight into another monthly fee...
