Honestly, I’ve been in your shoes—had to file a claim after a fender bender last year. My local agent actually called me back the same day and walked me through everything. Yeah, I pay a bit more, but that peace of mind is real. Sometimes you just can’t put a price on not being stuck on hold forever...

That quick response from your agent sounds great, and I get what you mean about paying a little more for less hassle. I’ve always leaned toward companies with strong local presence for that reason—when you’re stranded on the side of the road, you want someone who actually picks up. I do wonder, though, if the extra cost is always justified. Sometimes the bigger names offer solid roadside help too, but it’s tough to know until you’re in a bind. I’d rather err on the side of caution, especially with Kentucky’s unpredictable weather and all those rural highways...

I get what you mean about local companies, but honestly, my experience with a big-name insurer wasn’t bad at all. Had a flat out near Bardstown last winter—called their roadside number, and someone showed up in under an hour. Guess it’s hit or miss, but I didn’t feel like I overpaid for that peace of mind.

I hear you, but I’ve had the opposite luck with the big guys—waited almost three hours for a tow once, and it was raining sideways. Maybe it’s just my “luck,” but I started leaning local after that. Sometimes smaller outfits actually pick up the phone, which is nice when you’re stranded and hangry.
