Was scrolling through my feed earlier and saw this local news piece about how more Kansas drivers are opting for comprehensive collision coverage lately. Apparently, it's because repair costs have shot up like crazy, and folks are worried about getting stuck with huge bills after an accident. Made me wonder if it's really worth the extra cost each month...I mean, I get it, but still feels like insurance companies always find a way to wiggle out of paying anyway. Curious what you guys thinkβ€”is it worth it or nah?

- Totally get where you're coming fromβ€”insurance companies can be pretty slippery sometimes, and it's frustrating paying extra each month without knowing if it'll really help when you need it.
- But honestly, as someone who's done a ton of road trips (and has had my share of minor scrapes and bumps), having collision coverage saved me big-time once. Hit a deer on a back road near Wichita last year...repair cost was insane, way more than I expected. Without collision, I'd have been stuck footing the whole bill myself.
- If your car's older or not worth much, maybe skip it. But if you're driving something newer or still making payments, I'd say the peace of mind alone is worth the extra few bucks each month.
- Still sucks though, feels like we're always stuck choosing between paying now or potentially paying way more later...

Fair point, but even with a newer luxury car, collision coverage isn't always clear-cut. Ever checked the fine print on depreciation clauses? Sometimes feels like paying extra doesn't guarantee full peace of mind...
