Saw something interesting on the local news last night about how insurance companies in Kansas figure out what we pay. Apparently stuff like your credit score, age, even marital status can bump your premiums up or down. I mean, I get the driving record part, but marital status? Seems kinda weird to me...and a bit unfair maybe. Wondering if anyone else caught that story or noticed their rates changing for odd reasons lately.

Yeah, I caught that segment too and it reminded me of when I got married a few years back. My insurance actually dropped noticeably right after the wedding, which surprised me at the time. I joked with my wife that apparently being married suddenly made me a safer driver...go figure. Still, it does seem odd that something unrelated to actual driving habits can affect rates so much. Feels a bit arbitrary to me.
