Loyalty perks sound nice, but sometimes they’re just smoke and mirrors.

That’s been my experience too. I stuck with the same company for years thinking it’d pay off, but when I finally shopped around, I was shocked at how much I could save. It’s a pain to switch, but sometimes you just gotta do it. Also, those “mature driver” courses actually knocked a bit off my premium—worth looking into if you haven’t already. The privacy stuff with those apps is a little much for me... I’d rather skip the tracking and just drive safe the old-fashioned way.

I get it—those apps can feel a bit Big Brother-ish. But honestly, I’ve seen some folks save a surprising chunk by using them. If you’re a chill driver and don’t mind your phone tattling, it might be worth a peek. Otherwise, yeah, mature driver courses are a solid move. Sometimes loyalty perks do add up, but you gotta read the fine print... and maybe squint a little.

I hear you on the privacy thing, but honestly, I’m not sure those apps would even help me. My driving record’s got more dings than my old pickup. Does anyone actually get a break with those tracking apps if you’ve had tickets or a fender bender or two? Or is it just for the folks who drive like they’re hauling eggs?

I tried one of those “safe driver” things last year—figured, why not, maybe I’ll get lucky. Turns out, they dinged me for hard braking and “late night driving.” What am I supposed to do, teleport home after work? Felt like I was being graded by a robot that never had to deal with Kansas potholes or deer jumping out at dusk.

And yeah, mature driver courses... did one a while back. It shaved off a few bucks, but nothing earth-shattering. Loyalty perks? My insurer’s been happy to take my money for years, but I swear my rates only go up. Is that just me?

I get wanting to skip the tracking and just drive careful, but sometimes it feels like you’re stuck between letting them watch your every move or paying through the nose. Anyone actually found a company in Kansas that doesn’t treat you like a liability just because you hit 65 (or have a couple dings)? Or is this just how it goes once you’re not “young and safe” anymore?

Man, I hear you on the “robot grading” thing. Those apps never seem to get that real life driving isn’t all smooth roads and perfect conditions. I’ve had similar luck—felt like I was being penalized for just living my life. Honestly, it’s frustrating, but you’re definitely not alone. Rates creeping up after 65 seems to be the norm, even if you’re a careful driver. Just gotta keep shopping around every renewal, even if it’s a pain. Sometimes switching companies actually does help, even if loyalty doesn’t seem to count for much anymore.

Totally get what you mean about the robot grading. My car practically parks itself, but apparently that doesn’t impress the insurance bots. Last time I got dinged for “hard braking” because a squirrel darted out—what was I supposed to do, just keep going? Rates after 65 really are wild, and loyalty discounts feel like a myth. I’ve switched twice in three years... feels like musical chairs with fancier seats.
