My credit score got dinged because I moved states—anyone else deal with this?

I recently moved from California to Massachusetts, and suddenly my credit score dropped like 30 points. I looked into it, and apparently different states have their own rules about what can or can't be included in your credit report. Um, I had no idea this was even a thing. Has anyone else had their credit score randomly change after moving to a new state? Seems kinda unfair, you know?
