Yeah, good advice there—I usually tell folks the same thing. Anonymous quotes are notoriously unreliable because they're just ballpark figures without your actual info. If you're trying to keep costs down after a DUI in Idaho, definitely talk to an independent agent. And don't forget to ask about tweaking coverages—sometimes raising deductibles or dropping unnecessary extras can offset the rate hike. Not a miracle fix, but every little bit helps when you're budgeting...

That's solid advice, but I'd be wary of raising deductibles too high just to save a few bucks. Had a friend who did that, then ended up with a fender-bender—cost him way more out-of-pocket. Anyone else had similar experiences with deductible adjustments after a DUI?

I get the caution about deductibles... had a similar situation myself. After my DUI a few years back, I thought raising my deductible would offset the premium spike a bit. It did help lower the monthly payment somewhat, but then I had an incident where someone backed into my parked car—minor damage, but still expensive because of the high deductible.

Curious though, are you driving something higher-end? From my experience owning a luxury car, repair costs can balloon quickly even with minor incidents. So if you're already dealing with increased premiums after a DUI, having a high deductible on top of that can really sting when something unexpected happens. Have you checked quotes for different deductible levels to see if the savings are really worth it in your situation?

Yeah, I learned the hard way that higher deductibles aren't always worth it. After my DUI, I figured I'd save some cash by bumping mine up too. Worked fine until a deer decided to jump out in front of me one night—damage wasn't crazy, but still cost me a chunk outta pocket. And you're right about luxury cars...my buddy drives an Audi and even minor repairs are brutal. Definitely pays to run the numbers carefully before committing to a deductible change.
