"It won't erase the spike completely, but showing genuine effort through structured programs definitely seems to help soften the blow a bit..."

Yeah, that's spot on. I've seen cases where someone took every class under the sun and insurers still didn't budge much—it's like bringing donuts to the office after messing up, helps a little but doesn't erase memories. 😂 Still, Idaho insurers do appreciate the effort, so it's worth a shot. Just don't expect miracles overnight...or even over-month.

That's a fair point about insurers not always budging much, even with extensive efforts. From what I've observed, though, structured programs can still be beneficial in the long run—not just for insurance reasons, but also for personal growth and demonstrating responsibility. A friend of mine went through something similar, and while their premiums didn't drop dramatically right away, the proactive approach did seem to gradually improve their standing with insurers over time. It wasn't immediate, but after a year or two, the rates started to ease up a bit. I guess insurers want to see sustained commitment rather than just a quick fix. Either way, it's definitely a tough road, but putting in genuine effort usually pays off eventually—even if it's slower than we'd like.

I get what you're saying about structured programs helping long-term, but honestly, do insurers really care that much about personal growth? Feels like they're mostly crunching numbers behind the scenes. My cousin had a DUI a few years back, jumped through all the hoops—classes, programs, you name it—and his rates barely budged even after two years. Maybe Idaho insurers are different, but I wouldn't bet my next road trip snack budget on it...

Yeah, insurers are definitely number-crunchers first. But did your cousin shop around after completing those programs? Sometimes switching companies after a DUI recovery period can make a noticeable difference...might be worth checking out.

Yeah, insurers definitely love their spreadsheets...but honestly, shopping around doesn't always help as much as you'd think. When I had a speeding ticket a few years back (not even a DUI), my rates jumped noticeably, and switching providers only shaved off a tiny bit. Took a good two years before things settled down. Still, it can't hurt to check other options—maybe you'll have better luck than I did.
