Been thinking about my car insurance lately, and I'm kinda stuck between two options. Right now, I've got basic coverage, but after seeing some cars in my neighborhood get keyed and windows smashed (ugh, people...), I'm considering upgrading to comprehensive coverage. Thing is, it's a decent chunk more money each month, and I'm not sure if it's really worth it just for vandalism protection.
On one hand, peace of mind sounds niceβknowing if some jerk decides to redecorate my car with a spray can or baseball bat, I'm covered. On the other hand, I've never personally had my car vandalized (knock on wood), and maybe I'm just being paranoid.
Anyone here had experience with comprehensive coverage actually paying off after vandalism? Or do you think it's better to just save the extra cash and hope for the best?
