Yeah, I hear you on the extras. I used to skip roadside until my battery died at the ferry terminal—never again. Still, some of those add-ons feel like overkill if you barely drive. Guess it’s all about your luck and how much risk you’re willing to take.

That’s the thing—I just can’t trust my luck. First time buying insurance and I’m already paranoid about every “what if.” Maybe I’m overthinking, but I’d rather pay a bit more than get stranded or stuck with a huge bill. Even if I barely drive, stuff happens when you least expect it...

Honestly, I get where you’re coming from. I’ve seen folks regret skimping on coverage after a fender bender—one guy thought he’d never need roadside assistance until his battery died in the rain. Sometimes paying a little extra for peace of mind is worth it, even if you barely drive.

That’s a fair point—sometimes those “extras” you think you’ll never use end up saving the day. I’m always weighing the cost against the risk, though. For example, I usually skip rental reimbursement since I work from home and could get by without a car for a few days, but I’d never go without comprehensive. Has anyone here actually needed rental coverage, or is it one of those things you only miss when you don’t have it?

Rental coverage actually bailed us out once when my wife’s car got rear-ended and was in the shop for almost two weeks. With two kids and school runs, there’s just no way we could’ve managed without a backup. I get skipping it if you’re home most days, but for families juggling schedules, it’s a lifesaver. Curious—do most people here have roadside assistance, or is that another “nice to have” folks skip?
