Has anyone actually crunched the numbers on how much rates jump after a ticket when you’re bundled with family? I’ve always heard it’s a big deal, but then again, my cousin got a speeding ticket last year and their parents’ rates barely budged… maybe it’s different in Hawaii? I’m just wondering if the risk of bumping up everyone’s premium is really as bad as people say, or if the savings from bundling usually outweigh that.

Also, does accident forgiveness actually apply to teen drivers, or is that mostly for adults with clean records? I know some companies are picky about who qualifies. I’d hate to assume we’re covered and then get a nasty surprise after a fender bender. Anyone had experience with that kind of situation? Sometimes it feels like insurance fine print is its own language...

Honestly, I’ve seen rates jump a lot more than people expect after a ticket—especially with teens on the policy. Hawaii’s a bit weird since some carriers are less aggressive with rate hikes, but it’s not always predictable. Accident forgiveness usually doesn’t cover new or young drivers, either. Most companies want a clean record for a few years first, so I wouldn’t count on it if your teen just got their license. The fine print really does matter… sometimes it feels like you need a translator.
