Yeah, those telematics things are a bit much for what you get. My cousin tried one and it dinged her for “hard braking” when she stopped for a chicken crossing the road (classic Hawaii problems). Bundling seems like the lesser evil, even if it still stings.

That’s wild—telematics doesn’t really get “chicken in the road” context, does it? I get why bundling feels like the lesser evil, but have you checked if your parents’ policy would take a big hit if your teen gets a ticket or fender bender? Sometimes the rate jump is worse than just splitting off. Curious if anyone’s actually compared the numbers after an incident.
