Had a similar situation myself—tiny tap, zero visible damage. We both shrugged it off and moved on. Honestly, insurance companies can be a pain even over minor stuff... premiums going up over nothing isn't my idea of fun. I get the caution though—some folks can be unpredictable later on. Usually, if the other driver seems chill and you both agree there's no damage, I'd say trust your gut. But yeah, like you said, vibe check matters big time here. Gotta love how complicated even the smallest bumps can get, right?

Totally get the hesitation here, but have you considered snapping a quick pic of both cars just in case? I mean, 99% of the time it's probably nothing, but I've seen situations where someone later claims hidden damage. Insurance can definitely be annoying over minor stuff, but having a photo or two can save headaches down the line. Better safe than sorry, right? Plus, it's always fun explaining to your phone gallery why you're hoarding random bumper pics...

Had a similar thing happen last year—barely tapped someone's bumper, zero visible marks. Took quick pics anyway, just to document. Sure enough, two days later they claimed scratches underneath. Photos saved me from a headache with insurance...definitely worth the extra minute.

Had something similar happen a couple years back. I was parallel parking downtown and barely nudged the car behind me—got out, checked, nothing visible at all. Thought about just leaving it, but decided to snap a quick pic just in case. Sure enough, next day the owner calls claiming I'd cracked their bumper underneath. Luckily, I had that photo showing zero damage at the time. Insurance took one look and dismissed the claim.

Honestly, it made me wonder how often people try to pull stuff like this. I mean, I get wanting your car fixed if it's genuinely damaged, but trying to pin unrelated scratches on someone else seems shady. Makes me think it's always better to document even the smallest bumps—just to protect yourself. Better safe than sorry, right?

Yeah, people definitely try to milk these situations sometimes. Had a guy once claim I dented his door—funny thing was, the "dent" was rusty and clearly ancient. Makes me wonder, do dashcams help much in parking scenarios? Might be worth considering...
