I had a minor fender bender about two weeks ago, nothing major, just a dent and some scratches. At first, I thought I'd just handle it myself, but now I'm thinking maybe I should've filed a claim. Is two weeks already pushing it, or am I still good?

You're probably still fineβ€”most insurers give you some wiggle room, but honestly, sooner is always better. Two weeks isn't terrible, but waiting longer could make things trickier...insurance companies have trust issues, y'know? Better get moving before memories fade and dents mysteriously multiply.

Two weeks might be okay, but have you checked your policy wording? Some insurers have sneaky clauses about reporting timelines. I'd double-check that fine print before assuming you're in the clear...better safe than sorry.

Two weeks is usually fine, but like mentioned above, insurers can be tricky. I've seen some policies that give you up to 30 days, others as short as 48 hours for specific incidents (like theft or vandalism). A friend of mine once waited almost a month after a minor fender-bender because he thought it wasn't worth the hassle...turns out his insurer had a strict two-week reporting window. He ended up paying out of pocketβ€”ouch.

Definitely worth taking five minutes to skim your policy or even giving your insurer a quick call. Better to spend a few minutes now than deal with headaches later. Insurance companies aren't exactly known for their generosity when it comes to bending rules!
