So yesterday was my first time getting stuck on the side of the road with my electric car. Battery gauge said I had plenty of juice left, but nope... suddenly dropped way faster than expected. Had to call roadside help and wait foreverrrr. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yikes, that sounds frustrating... haven't had it happen to me personally yet, but I've definitely noticed my battery gauge acting kinda weird sometimes. Like, it'll say I have 50 miles left, and then suddenly drop to 30 after just a few minutes of driving. Makes me wonder how accurate these gauges really are—are they just estimates based on ideal conditions or something?

Also, did you notice if the weather was colder than usual? I've read somewhere that cold weather can seriously mess with EV battery performance. I'm still pretty new to electric cars myself, so I'm always paranoid about running out of juice. Usually end up charging way more often than I probably need to, just to avoid exactly what happened to you.

Curious if anyone else has noticed their battery gauge being unreliable or if it's just certain models that have this issue...

Yeah, I've noticed that too, especially in winter. My gauge drops way faster when temps dip below freezing. I think they're mostly rough estimates based on recent driving habits and weather conditions... definitely not exact science.
