Buddy of mine got hit with a DUI last year and his insurance premiums went through the roof...he found out taking a defensive driving course approved by Delaware actually helped soften the blow a bit. Curious if anyone else has tips or tricks to ease the sting?

Had a friend go through something similar a couple years back—he found that shopping around aggressively for insurance helped more than you'd think. Different companies handle DUIs differently, so don't just stick with your current provider out of habit. Also, consider raising your deductible temporarily to lower premiums...just make sure you've got some cash stashed away in case you actually need it. Hang in there, it'll get better eventually.
