I get where you’re coming from, but I’ve actually had the opposite experience. My last accident, the local agent called me up and walked me through the whole mess—literally sat on hold with the claims department so I didn’t have to. Maybe I just lucked out with a good one, but it made the whole process way less stressful. I guess it really depends on who you get stuck with... not all agents are created equal, that’s for sure.
That’s wild, because my agent was basically MIA when I needed help—felt like I was just another number. Maybe it’s a Delaware thing? Or maybe I just have terrible luck. Guess it really is a coin toss who you get stuck with...

Totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve had both types—one agent who’d call back in five minutes, and another who’d vanish for weeks. Did you ever try switching companies, or just stick it out? Sometimes I wonder if it’s just the luck of the draw, or if certain agencies are just stretched too thin around here.
Honestly, I’m not convinced it’s all just luck. I’ve noticed the bigger companies seem to juggle too many customers, so you end up feeling like a number. Smaller local agencies might be slower with tech, but at least you get a real person who remembers your name... most of the time.
- 100% agree, the big guys treat you like a policy number, not a person.
- Local agents might not have fancy apps, but at least you can call and talk to someone who actually knows your situation.
- I’ve had claims with both—big company took forever, local agent called me back the same day.
- Only downside with the smaller shops is sometimes their hours are weird or they’re closed for lunch... but I’ll take that over endless phone menus any day.
- At the end of the day, I just want someone who’ll actually help if I get rear-ended, not just send me to another department.
