"Took me a boring weekend afternoon, but hey, cheaper premiums are worth it..."

Haha, yeah those defensive driving courses aren't exactly thrilling... but definitely worth the hassle. Another thing I'd suggest is checking if your insurer offers specialty coverage for classic or vintage cars. I found out mine had a separate policy that was actually cheaper and offered agreed-value coverage—pretty reassuring for someone as paranoid about their '72 Mustang as I am. Just something to look into if you've got an older ride.

Yeah, those defensive driving courses can be a drag, but hey, at least you knocked it out in one weekend. I've been meaning to do mine forever... procrastination at its finest. Interesting point about classic car coverage though—I never even thought about that. Wonder if insurers have similar deals for older-but-not-quite-classic cars? My '98 Civic isn't exactly vintage, but it's definitely seen better days, haha. Might be worth checking into anyway.

Yeah, definitely worth a shot. My car's not winning any beauty contests either, but I've managed to squeeze out some decent discounts by bundling policies and shopping around every renewal. Those defensive driving courses do pay off eventually—just gotta power through the boredom once. Good luck with your Civic; those things run forever if you treat 'em right.

Gotta admit, bundling policies does save a decent chunk—I was skeptical at first, but it really adds up over time. Curious though, has anyone actually seen a major drop after those defensive driving courses? I keep hearing mixed things...my brother swears by it, but a friend said it barely made a dent. Might be worth the boredom if it means more cash stays in my pocket, haha.

Did one last year and here's my take:

- Definitely saw a noticeable drop, but calling it "major" might be a stretch...think mine was about 10% off?
- Honestly, the real value's in the refresher on safe habits. (Yeah, yeah, sounds boring, but I'm that guy who actually cares about stopping distances, lol.)
- If you're looking purely at savings, probably depends on your insurer—mine wasn't huge, but hey, every bit counts.
- Bottom line: worth it for the peace of mind and mild discount, but don't expect miracles.
