Did the same thing with my classic Mustang. Just make sure you have enough set aside if something does happen...parts for older cars can sneak up on you, trust me. Also, ask about limited mileage policies—saved me a decent chunk.

Did something similar with my older Civic, but be careful relying too much on savings alone. Had a minor fender bender last year and even basic replacement parts added up quicker than I expected. Limited mileage policies are great if you don't drive daily, but also check if your insurer offers discounts for garaging or anti-theft devices—those little things shaved off a few extra bucks for me.

Yeah, learned that the hard way myself. Thought I'd save big on limited mileage, then ended up overshooting the limit after a couple unexpected road trips. Fees weren't fun. Also, watch out for loyalty discounts—they sound good but sometimes lock you in and make switching insurers later a pain. Still, I'll check into the anti-theft discount thing... hadn't considered that one yet.

Yeah, limited mileage sounds tempting, but Delaware's pretty small... those weekend trips to Philly or DC add up quicker than you'd think. I crunched numbers once (yeah, I'm that guy), and unless you're strictly local, the savings aren't always worth the stress of tracking miles. Anti-theft discounts are legit though—my cousin installed a tracker and shaved off a decent chunk. Might give that a shot myself.

Totally get what you're saying about the mileage thing. I used to think limited mileage was a no-brainer, especially since my daily commute isn't that far. But then I realized how quickly those spontaneous weekend trips or family visits to Baltimore or DC can rack up the miles. Suddenly, you're stressing about going over your limit instead of enjoying the trip—been there, done that, not fun.

The anti-theft tracker idea sounds solid though. My neighbor installed one last year, and he mentioned it wasn't just good for insurance discounts but also gave him some peace of mind. He joked that now he can actually find his car in crowded parking lots (he's notoriously forgetful, lol). But seriously, the discount he got was pretty decent, and it seems like a relatively low-hassle way to save some cash.

Another thing I've noticed is bundling policies can sometimes help more than you'd expect. When I combined my renter's insurance with my auto policy, I ended up saving more than I thought I would. Might be worth checking out if you haven't already.

Anyway, props for crunching the numbers—I'm usually too lazy to do that myself, but it's definitely smart to know exactly what you're getting into. Good luck with the tracker if you decide to go for it... sounds like a win-win!
