Yeah, the “comprehensive” label is misleading—learned that the hard way when a tree branch fell on my old wagon in storage. Turns out, unless you’ve got it spelled out, you’re not covered for half the stuff you’d expect. Agreed value is a must for anything vintage, no question. I keep a folder with every receipt and random photo just in case... feels a bit paranoid, but insurance companies love their loopholes.

I get where you’re coming from, but I’ve actually had decent luck with standard comprehensive—guess it depends on the company? My policy covered a hailstorm, but yeah, they did try to wiggle out of paying full value. Keeping records is smart, but sometimes I wonder if it’s overkill...

- Totally get that feeling. I used to just toss receipts in the glove box, but after a claim got delayed over “missing documentation,” I started keeping a folder at home.
- It’s a pain, but for vintage rides, every little bit helps with value disputes.
- Not all companies are equal—mine tried to lowball me on paint damage, so having photos and records paid off.
- If you’re on a budget like me, it’s worth the hassle. Just snap pics now and then and stash ‘em in the cloud. Doesn’t have to be fancy.

Yeah, totally had a similar run-in last year. My insurance tried to argue my rust spots were “pre-existing” even though I’d literally just gotten the car detailed. Ended up digging through old phone pics to prove it wasn’t there before the fender bender. Took some back and forth, but having those photos made a difference. It’s a hassle, but I’d rather do that than fight about it later.

- Been there—my “vintage” ride is basically a rolling scrapbook of questionable repairs, so I’ve learned to document everything, even the weird scratches that look like a raccoon tried to break in.
- Anyone ever have an adjuster try to blame hail dents on “normal wear and tear”? Felt like I was on a game show trying to prove my car’s innocence.
- Curious—do you guys keep a running log of repairs, or just rely on photos? I’m always worried I’ll miss something and get stuck footing the bill.
