Had a minor fender bender last week, nothing major, just a dent and some scratches. But man, the claims adjuster asked me like a million questions and took photos from every possible angle. Felt like a crime scene investigation, lol. Anyone else had this happen?

Haha, seriously, I feel you on that. Last year I backed into a pole—nothing major, just cracked the bumper a bit—but you'd think I'd robbed a bank or something. The adjuster showed up with this massive camera and started snapping away from angles I didn't even know existed. Then came the questions: "What was your speed? Were you distracted? Did you see the pole?" Like, yeah dude, I saw it...right after I hit it.

Honestly though, I kinda get why they're thorough. I've had my fair share of claims (maybe more than my fair share, if I'm honest), and insurance companies are probably tired of people trying to sneak in unrelated damage. Still, it's pretty funny how intense they get over minor stuff. Guess it's just part of the game.

I get why it might seem over-the-top, but honestly, I'd rather have an adjuster who's overly thorough than one who barely looks at the damage. Just went through my first claim a couple months ago (hail damage, nothing dramatic), and I was actually relieved when the adjuster spent a solid hour checking every inch of my car.

- Detailed inspections mean fewer disputes later on—less chance they'll miss something important.
- It also protects us from higher premiums caused by fraudulent claims or unrelated damages sneaking through.
- Yeah, the questions can feel a bit much ("Did you see the pole?" is kinda hilarious though), but they're probably just covering their bases to avoid misunderstandings.

Maybe it's because I'm new to this whole insurance thing, but I appreciate the extra effort. Better safe than sorry, right?

I get your point, but honestly, sometimes it feels like they're just looking for reasons to deny or minimize the claim. Had a minor fender-bender last year—nothing major, just a cracked bumper and some paint scratches—and the adjuster spent almost two hours going over every tiny detail. At first, I thought it was great they were being thorough, but then they started pointing out unrelated scratches from parking lots and normal wear-and-tear stuff. It felt like they were trying to find anything to lower the payout.

I understand wanting to avoid fraud and keep premiums down, but there's a line between thoroughness and nitpicking. Maybe it's just luck of the draw with adjusters? Or maybe it depends on the insurance company itself... I've heard some are more customer-friendly than others.

Either way, glad your experience was positive. Mine wasn't terrible, just left me feeling a bit skeptical about their intentions.
