I've been with the same insurance company for like 8 years now, mostly because it's convenient and I haven't had any major issues. But lately I've been wondering if maybe I'm getting a bit too comfortable. A friend of mine recently switched insurers and ended up saving quite a bit of money, plus got better coverage on her car. Made me think...am I missing out by not shopping around more often?
I mean, loyalty is supposed to be rewarded, right? But it seems like insurers these days are more interested in attracting new customers than keeping their old ones happy. Kinda frustrating, you know? Has anyone else experienced this—staying loyal to one insurer and then realizing later you could've gotten a better deal elsewhere? Curious if it's worth the hassle of switching every few years or if sticking around actually pays off in the long run.
"loyalty is supposed to be rewarded, right?"
You'd think so... but honestly, as someone who just bought insurance for the first time, I shopped around like crazy and found huge price differences. Seems like insurers save their best deals for newbies, not loyal customers. Pretty backwards if you ask me.
