Are Loyalty Perks With Insurers Even Worth It Anymore?

I hear you, but have you ever had to file a claim after switching? That’s where I get nervous. I’ve stuck with my insurer for years, mostly because they handled a not-so-minor fender bender super smoothly. Maybe I’m just risk-averse, but I wonder if the savings are worth it if service drops when you actually need them. Anyone else ever had a claim go sideways after switching?

I totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve seen folks save a bunch by switching, but then get stuck in endless back-and-forth when a claim pops up—usually over something silly like paperwork. But then again, I’ve also seen new insurers handle things just as well as the old ones. Did your old company ever mess up, or was it smooth every time? Sometimes it feels like it’s just luck of the draw...

Honestly, that’s not far off. Even with the same insurer, claim experiences can vary a lot depending on the adjuster, the type of claim, or even just timing. Loyalty perks are nice, but I’ve seen long-time customers get tripped up by missing a single document. If you do switch, keep detailed records—makes things way smoother if you ever need to file.
